Our family is hopeless. Every good attempt I make at trying to right our wonky schedule is met with such absurd reasons that it didn't happen.....again.
I had decided last night was going to be our new start. Bedtime for the bunchkins at 8:30PM. When that time rolled around I sat starring at all of 4 of them, the oldest of which is always too scared to go to bed upstairs without an older sibling. The other children were doing a chicken round up....which is sorta my fault for not knowing it needed done and not keeping after them to get it done.
Tonight, I am down to 3 of them. The rest were involved with, this time, a cow round up. They are now doing the regular chores that were postponed for that. Paul has now started his late night trek to the butcher, back to pick up another load, then on to the butcher again. He won't be back until midnight, I'm sure. This is nothing new. Who can blame him? He put in a full day (as did I), had to milk, and then one of the cows went bonkers keeping Geof busy for a good hour or more finding it.
So, I guess I persevere. Bedtime is bedtime whether anyone is here to go to bed or not!
