Talk about confusing! Maria would pull me (mom) aside and make a suggestion about something we could do for Audrey's birthday and later Audrey would quietly confide something about Maria. It left me with a very strange feeling. I was losing track of who knew what about whom! Paul thought the whole thing was just pretty funny.
Since Maria and Audrey have a similar list of friends, it was pretty easy to have Maria go pick up a couple of them. We even called her to pick up a few things for the party on her way home. Both Audrey and Maria got to the party and wondered about the ones sitting there who they knew hadn't been on their list.....ha!
You will see in the pictures below Maria holding a beautiful Friendship quilt, fashioned by Christine and Audrey. They had a bunch of her friends embroider blocks for it. They sewed it together and had a couple quiltings while Maria was in Nebraska those weeks this spring. Maria had no idea about this quilt!
Everyone made sheets to put into a scrapbook for Audrey.

Christine is here giving directions for the scavenger hunt she came up with. The end prize was the Friendship quilt for Maria.
Audrey and Christine sure kept the girls on the run searching for clues hither and yon.
Racing off to find another clue.
Christine must've used a whole skein of yarn and wrapped it around the entire basement. It kept them all busy winding it up to find the end.
Ahhh, what is this???
"It's B~e~a~u~t~i~f~u~l!! When did you guys get this done????" Someone suggested she remember that she did spend a considerable chunk of time in Nebraska some months ago.....
Something to cherish for years to come
Admiring the quilt. Gramma enjoyed sneaking time to go to Christine's to help quilt.
