Clark

My dear little Clarkie is six years old today! How do I love him? Let me count the ways...

He is my impulsively curious one. He can't bear to not know what would happen if... And then when a catastrophy of his own making ensues he looks so adorably startled by his own stupidity.

He builds very intricate K'Nex creations and truly surprises and impresses me with how complex he must be able to think.

One of his favorite things to do besides K'Nex is to draw complete roadway systems with sidewalk chalk out on the walks. He and his brothers then happily "drive" on them all day long some days.

And when he isn't doing any of that, he likes to organize his "office". He is so happy when I buy him stuff like staplers and paper punches for little gifts.

I love that he is so content to photocopy money and then sit there cutting it all out with scissors to stick into his little cash box. (And, no, I am not worried about him having a future in counterfeiting. LOL He's a little boy who actually could use a little more cutting and pasteing practice and it sure beats letting him play with our money!)

I love that he likes me to read him stories. He likes Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel and Jennifer & Josephine the best. He likes when I come home from the thrift store with duplicate copies of any book because he'll squirrel them away in his special drawer.

He will also squirrel away anything else. If we can't find something 9 times out of 10 Clark either has it or knows where it is.

I think it's funny that every truck he draws or fashions has dual exhaust stacks.

You know what? I like him just the way he is right at this moment. I like his full baby tooth smile and his insightful perceptions.

I love you, Clark! I am so glad God sent you to our family.
