The Twins and the Droid App (sounds like a scary movie....)

It is a long standing joke with Brady and Brock that our Tablet (or "Tab") is another of the children. See, when Clay needs to be nursed, I tend to take him into my room to shut out the noise of the rest of the house. I get bored, so I sometimes take the Tab with me and look at stuff while I feed the baby. (Multitasking in the modern era....).

Anyhow, the twins will come in and say stuff about whether I've finished putting Tabby to sleep or if Tabby is fed or whatever. As if I were sneaking away to be on the computer instead of feeding the baby....oh no, I wouldn't do *that* (would I???)!

Today the twins barged through the door, math books in hand, and pretended to be children's services to investigate me for over working Tabby. (They really wanted help with a math problem.) One of them said in a police-on-duty voice: "Watch out, she might be armed!" The other said, "She might have an app for that!!"

I whipped the Tab at them and said, "Aha! I have just the app!!" and I held the Tab up in the air like I was taking a picture.

Those boys are ridiculous. They keep me laughing.

All my children keep my laughing, actually. Not hilariously every day, of course, but with so many of them someone is bound to say or do something that I find extremely amusing. Or sometimes it's not even so funny as just impressive that a child of mine could be so....witty....or smart....or....you know, stuff Mom's always think about their children.

Trevor watched the movie Courageous with us and now he likes to plug a little microphone (where this came from, I don't know) into the video monitor. He'll stand there and shout random questions and answer each one of them with, "I will! I will!" If he doesn't end up on some sort of stage or platform someday!

Ahhhh. Motherhood. I have been gifted with the ability to (mostly) see things from a bird's eye view (1) and so I think I can be easily entertained by the most ordinary things.

Maria and I have both talked about the fact that we could be sitting on an out-of-the-way park bench somewhere writing the descriptions and dialog tags that could go with what we're watching if it were being written into a story right then.

Like watching an old man shuffle by....or said grumpily....or the child fluttered by....or.....

Maybe it's weird. I have always been like that: a people watcher. So much so, that I feel self conscious lest I am walking through a parking lot somewhere and someone is adding commentary to my actions unbeknownst to me......

Oh.....I interrupt my own train of thought here. Paul is asking me to go with him somewhere. Romantic Valentine's Day trip hauling some cattle....(really, I don't mind).

Had to smile at Paul's dad earlier. He came into my house all smiles telling me all the men from his church were going to swoop in and take the ladies from their monthly church sewing out to eat for lunch as a surprise for Valentine's Day today. How sweet! His face almost had boyish mischief on it because he was going to surprise his wife of 50+ years with a Valentine's Day treat!

(1) my apologies to my darlings for my sometimes too frequent bad days when I fail to see them as neither funny nor the treasures they all are. ((((hugs))))
