3-9-13

Here are a whole bunch of pictures from the other day.  A whole group of the kids went out and tapped maple trees.

I knew when he cautioned me to dress warmly enough that this wouldn't be quite the usual trip.  He hadn't mentioned wearing my boots, but I had a hunch that I would be needing them.  I was right.

A lady had called wondering if Paul could PLEASE come look at her pigs and consider buying them.  She had gotten our number from our butcher as someone who might be interested in taking her pigs off her hands.

You see, these pigs come all come with their own police records.  Her neighbor was none too happy to have a little farm in the neighborhood anyhow, and she was definitely not happy when the pigs came for periodic visits.  She called the cops on a number of occasions.  

"9-1-1, do you have an emergency?"

"Yeah, my neighbors pigs are in my yard."

Granted, pigs will make a horrible mess of any yard, and really should be contained.  Still, there was bad feeling from the start because the neighbor really just didn't like
