Thanksgiving...

For Thanksgiving we had mom's family and dad's parents over. There were 37 people in all.
I guess I will just let the pictures explain themselves....

Butchering Turkeys

Like every year, the few days before thanksgiving we butchered around 300 turkeys. We did most of the turkeys on Monday and Tuesday, thankfully we had some help for those two days! We didn't get too many pictures from this, but here are a few....

Logan, filling up with hot water from the milk house.

Mom and Maria gutting, this was from Wednesday when they did mostly chickens.

Shannah and Luke, fake smiles! =)

Dad, cleaning out the tub.

And the very last step, bagging all the turkeys!!!

Poppy Turns 74

A couple weeks ago we had a "birthday party" for Poppy (Dad's dad).
Dad's sister's family and Blake's came over for supper.

Sorry the pictures are such bad quality. The lighting in the basement isn't the greatest for pictures!

Cousin Benjamin playing carpet ball with Miles.

Poppy played a game of Rook with the boys.

Mom and Dad took a little trip

When Maria went to Michigan, she went by train. She came home by way of friends (thanks, Daniel and Janel!) who were coming within 3 hours of home, so Paul and I went to pick her up. We meandered the countryside for a day before picking her up. We like to do this when we have no children with us to contest the long, slow ride.

Anyhow, we happened upon this barn in Western Ohio and thought it was neat enough to take some pictures of. I have no idea if the reverse side of the barn was also painted as we didn't stop to look.
