The school corner

When I happened upon this old, old cupboard in one of our outbuildings one day, I figured I could fix it up to put down in the basement as somewhat of a bookshelf. I discovered I have merely been enamored by my notion of what primitive furniture looks like. Many of the pieces sold as primitives today are new but painstakingly worked over to *look* old. In reality, truly old furniture is hard to give that look to! I think lots of things are like that in life......we sometimes fall in love with our dream view of things instead of the hard reality of it!

I will be keeping my old, old cupboard with the splash paint job I gave it. If I squint a little I can almost see it the way I've seen others in quaint country primitives stores. Someday I'll buy new knobs for it. :)
