Mom and Dad took a little trip

When Maria went to Michigan, she went by train. She came home by way of friends (thanks, Daniel and Janel!) who were coming within 3 hours of home, so Paul and I went to pick her up. We meandered the countryside for a day before picking her up. We like to do this when we have no children with us to contest the long, slow ride.

Anyhow, we happened upon this barn in Western Ohio and thought it was neat enough to take some pictures of. I have no idea if the reverse side of the barn was also painted as we didn't stop to look.

Fixing Roof

We don't have very spectacular pictures of this or other recent events, but I wanted to post a quick update.

Logan, Paul, and friend Geof take a little time to fix some of the barn roof.

Walnut season is over for the year!!!

On Tuesday, the Hammons Company, who we buy the black walnuts for every year, sent a semi to pick them all up. This year was a smaller year than most. I think we only got approximately 26 tons.

Garth hauled some of the pallets of nuts to the truck so the others could stack them inside. Dad later took over after getting home from hauling beef cows.

Trevor had a blast watching from the bales (no, it's not snow!).
