Once upon a time I was a child. I know my children find this hard to imagine, but---alas---it's true. When I was a child I whiled many an hour away with my two sisters and one brother riding bike, playing with dolls, building forts in the woods. Kid stuff and it was fun. My youngest sibling was only three years younger than I, so I never had the vantage point of being much older while observing my BABY sister.
Now that I'm a mom, I sit here wondering if my BABY sister ever sat on the table asking our mother if the contraption there on the tabletop was a "transmishion" (that would be "transmission" to those of us with less of a baby lisp). It wasn't a transmission but a small carburetor from a lawn mower engine. I suppose for a three year old, it's hard to keep those big words straight. (Really, though it didn't strike me so at the time, I am now sitting here wondering at there even having been engine parts of any sort sitting on the kitchen table????)
Something else really struck me funny about this same three year old today. He was playing by the window, suddenly he commenced shrieking about a bee stinging him. I was really....well....surprised a little while later when I saw he had the mason jar with baking soda in it and he was rubbing a handful of soda onto the sting. He then quit crying and went on playing. Apparently Gramma's baking-soda-on-stings trick wasn't wasted on Clark as he knew just what to do!
I went to get on the computer just now and what did I see but a window open to a youtube video called: "how to fix and rewind briggs and stratton pull starters". Hmmmmm. Wonder if Clark knows how to run the computer now, too????? (I'm pretty sure that was the twins and Garth, but I could be wrong!)
