Shannah keeps a photo blog where she posted these very pictures, but I liked them so well, I decided to bring them here to the family blog. Gotta love how his pants billow out over his boots!

I heard Shannah telling Trevor earlier in the evening that she wanted him to go outside with her when she told him it was time. I figured she had a photo op in mind and I was right. :)

Shannah definitely has both an artistic eye and an artistic flair! We love having a photographer in the family. Too bad she wasn't around to capture my older children's pictures. Instead, I have a boxful of really bad photos I took with a film camera that I hadn't even had the benefit of deleting before I paid to have them printed!

Cows Out on Pasture

Weather is often a conversation filler for many people, as in, when you don't know what else to talk about, you mention the weather. Marry a farmer and you'll soon realize that the weather is ever so much more than an idle conversation piece!

The perfect mixture of pleasant temperatures and solid ground (a rarity for early March most years!) had us putting the cows out to pasture today. Their first treks out in the early spring are more for exercise purposes than feed value. They do get a wee bit of green out there, but not a lot. They're still getting their full amount of wrapped hay.
