The other day Aud and I decided it was time to repaint the kitchen. True, we decided the same thing about this time last year, but really, painting is to us like rearranging furniture is to others. Besides, we can blame it all on Dad. Last fall Dad went to an auction and somehow managed to acquire HUNDREDS of buckets of paint. We really hate to see it just sitting on the shelf doing nothing. So, we paint.
First we mix a whole bunch of different color paints to (hopefully) make the color we want.

Too purple. Too pink. Too boring.

Ok, so I am no expert on this. I just keep adding paint until it looks about right. And usually I am wrong and have to add more of another color. Which makes for lots of extra paint when I am finished.

Let's just say I am better at raking hay then painting. And for those of you who know about my raking abilities, you must know how horrible my painting really is. (Right, Christine?)

I am actually quite happy. I did 2 coats on the both the walls AND ceiling (the hated ceiling) in ONE DAY. That might not seem like much of an accomplishment, but I was doing it ALONE. (With the help of little brothers who don't believe me when I say, "don't touch that paint. It is WET!" )

Aud and Shan didn't do any of the painting. But, they did do the cooking and then cleaning up after my (many) drippings.
