Maria and I went to town in the pickup earlier. She's going to be telling her children and her children's children about our zany escapades learning how to "smoothly" use the clutch and gas* pedal in town traffic. We laugh so hard as we squeel tires and jerk, jerk, jerk through intersections. People probably think we're nuts!
At one point it was raining so hard and I was driving. I had the wipers going and all was good.....until the wiper blade on my side suddenly catapulted off the arm. We were drenched trying to figure out how to put it back on! Oh well, there weren't *too* many people at Staples when we got there after this to get the copier toner that we needed.
*So, if one is driving a DIESEL truck, is it still called "gas" pedal?

Some pictures of this afternoon
People have been asking how Blake's hand is coming along. His accident happened on January 6th of this year. He is, as you can see by the pictures, back to doing his regular mechanical work. He is right handed and that hand tires very easily as he works. He says he has learned to switch to using his left hand quite a lot these days. He also says that he can only power a drill at about half speed, that's all the further he can pull the "trigger" back with his right index finger.
He is still struggling to gain feeling, motion, and strenghth in his hand/fingers, but has progressed a lot in these past months. He doesn't sit back and complain, he simply finds another way to do what needs to be done!
And the rainbow!
As you can see by the pictures, the rainbow's end was right here on our farm. There was, however, no pot of gold.
These clouds were amazing. I thought it was neat how the sky color is so very nearly like the background color of this blog.
